Hi, I'm Yusuf Arslan
I honestly love teaching Turkish — there's something special about watching someone go from “I can't say anything” to actually chatting over coffee (even if it's on Zoom). Every small win — your first full sentence, understanding a joke, ordering food without pointing at the menu — makes my day.
My style is warm, conversational, and patient. I'm not here to lecture you or make you feel behind. We talk, we laugh when things get tricky, and we try again. I explain things simply, in plain language, and I'm always happy to repeat something or slow down.
A typical lesson? We start with a quick check-in — how you're doing, what you want to work on. Then we dive into conversation, new words, or whatever you need that day. You'll speak a lot; I might gently correct you, but I won't interrupt every sentence. We wrap up with a clear takeaway so you know what to practice before next time.
I'm from Izmir, on Turkey's Aegean coast — a city of sea air, good food, and easy-going people. That spirit is part of how I teach: relaxed, welcoming, no stress. If you've ever wanted to learn Turkish without feeling like you're back in school, we'll get along just fine.
